So it appears that the English government is seen to be taking the easy way out i.e. promoting bio-fuels. This solves NOTHING it just puts of the inevitable, but " it wont happen while I'm in office " , so it slides down the scale of importance.
But lets face it , IT WILL HAPPEN , we will run out of oil.
Several interesting lines of exploration seem to be opening up.
Fuel cells --a way to go yet but very close, in France and Australia people are exploring cars that run on compressed air!!
Electric or dual fueled cars are on sale. A guy has discovered how to produce power from seawater
Note these are being done by individuals not governments.
Its time that we all started thinking about the problem of no oil and its consequences, time to dust off those crazy ideas of flying cars, airships etc etc
You could have the answer inside your head!!!
If you have no ideas then use your vote--lobby for governments to do more, invest more, set the scene more, after all it WILL affect you and yours

Biofuel curse or blessing?
I was going to do loads of research for this blog, looking at usage of oil, production of biofuels etc. but after a while it became obvious that even with genetic engineering biofuels are a con.
We can never make enough biofuel to satisfy the need and still grow food.
If governments persist in subsidizing the growing of plants for biofuel then the growing of food will not make enough money. Its a bit like poppy production in Afghanistan, everyone knows its wrong but its the only way to make a decent living.
Yes I know some of you will pick holes in my thinking but the basis still holds-- one day we will run out of oil!!!!!
So why is everyone jumping on the biofuel bandwagon? One answer could be maintaining the status quo ; and the probability that we don't have any other answers.
Maintaining the status quo?
Have you really thought through the consequences of running out of oil? Just one aspect that will be affected is your transport.
Think about the millions of pounds and thousands of jobs involved in car/van production. Companies like Ford,GMC,Honda,Pirelli.
Then think about road building and all the jobs and processes involved in that. the list goes on.
It really is quite scary, the impact on your life and mine would be horrendous.
So what are governments doing about this? and indeed what are you doing?
have a look at website www.costtheearth.com
where i have a jaundiced look at nuclear fuel, solar, wind and wave
